What is Maintenance Management Accreditation?
Maintenance Management Accreditation is part of the NHVAS (National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme) and is generally used to gain exemption from the annual inspection requirement for heavy vehicles in New South Wales and Queensland, with the exception of buses.
This accreditation is granted to operators who can demonstrate that they have effective systems in place to comply with the NHVAS business rules and standards.
Why obtain Maintenance Management Accreditation?
Removal of annual inspection/RWC
Maintenance Management Accreditation provides an exemption from the annual inspection or Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) requirement for heavy trucks and trailers in New South Wales and Queensland. Buses are not included in this exemption.
Safety Management System (SMS)
Holding Maintenance Management Accreditation helps you meet your Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations by ensuring your fleet is properly maintained and serviced in line with established industry standards.
Tender Contracts
Maintenance Management Accreditation may be necessary to apply for or retain a tender contract with a prime contractor.
PBS and/or Network Access requirement
Maintenance Management Accreditation may be required for certain vehicle types and combinations to gain road network access or operate specific vehicles on the road.
